Emily does such a good job at explaining what a CoP is, what it isnt, what it should be and where things may be going wrong. A great set of videos which i really enjoyed watching and learning from!

Emily has clearly invested a great deal of thought and experience into crafting this course. Thanks a lot Emily, the course was a great opportunity to step back and spend some real and valuable learning time on this subject. It's sometimes easy to get stuck in an insular way of thinking about the communities we lead or participate in, I appreciated the chance to reflect on this from a wider perspective using the insights in the course. I especially appreciated the self pace of the course while wowk (and life!) did its own thing! The level of thought and care you've taken in the design, detail, and delivery of the course content and presentation is abundantly clear and I enjoyed going through the additional resources in each of the sections.

Whether you are taking your first forays into building a Community or have experience in the field and are looking for practical tips to sustain and mature an existing CoP, this is a fantastic course delivered by a world-class expert in the field. The course itself is put together very well, easily digestible with practical examples and a wealth of tools and techniques which are valuable outside just building CoPs. The course challenged my thinking in a few areas and the exercises contribute and re-enforce the lessons at each stage, and are also useful in the real world afterwards. Additional course features such as viewable discussion topics from others completing the course are beneficial and help to build a community in of themselves, and Emily's immediate responses to my own discussion topics provided constant insights which helped me refine my own outputs and thinking. There is no better learning aid, set of tools, or teacher for anyone wanting to build and improve a Community of Practice themselves.

I would thoroughly recommend this course to anyone involved with communities of practice - it's packed with useful tips and tools which can easily be applied in practice. The resources and real-life examples are also helpful. The video format and structure make it easy to complete it in bite-size sessions, in between other commitments. Thank you Emily.

I really enjoyed this course! It's packed with practical tips and real knowledge about communities of practice (CoPs) that I could apply right away. What made it special for me was how Emily Webber weaves in stories from her own CoP experiences. This course covers all of the bases: theory; starting; maturing and sustaining a community of practice. If you're new to communities of practice you'll gain foundational tips and techniques on how to frame things for success. If you're more experienced you'll likely gain fresh perspectives on how to keep your community of practice fun and engaging for all involved.

Informative course with practical strategies and interesting scientific Information to support you build and develop, or review and regroup a community of practice. Self-paced so can do as much as you want or a module here and there to fit in with your work/life balance.

The course has shown me how to improve the chapter I lead and help it become more impactful. I can do this by focusing on three key areas. First, I need to officially define the chapter’s purpose. The course’s Kickoff Canvas provides a great framework for a workshop with my core members. We can define our purpose, principles, and goals together, which will make everyone feel more invested. Second, I need to diversify our activities. I can go "beyond the meet-up" by introducing a mix of different formats. I can plan sessions for deliberate practice, where members can try out new skills in a safe environment, or hold show and tell sessions where people share a project they’ve been working on. Finally, to make the chapter more sustainable, I need to cultivate new leaders. The course highlights that CoPs rely on shared leadership. I can encourage active members to take on short-term responsibilities, like leading a specific project or organising a meeting. This will help us move toward a self-sustaining model and allow me to gain the organisational support we need to grow our impact.
